Loving Santa left the kids a Wii for Christmas this year and while we have been having a blast playing, I have been having to take Motrin for my shoulder after a few rounds of Tennis with Taylor. So today Taylor again wants me to play Wii tennis with him, I agree but with hesitation, because I knew I was going to be sore afterwards. He gets the game all set up and we start playing. Tatum, is playing around us with the cane that Matt's dad used. Taylor and I were in a heavy volley of back and forth when he swung a backhand and as he was doing that Tatum decided that she would swing the cane. Cane meet Taylor's hand in a full on tennis backhand. He dropped to the floor immediately screaming in pain. I took one look at his and thought it was broken. His finger was crooked and his knuckle was sunken in like it had been crushed. I just knew it was broken. After getting him settled down and looking at it further, it looked like his finger was just dislocated. I got him to try and squeeze his hand into a fist and that seemed to do the trick and pop his finger back in place. So after splinting it and keeping ice on it, I think he will make it.
I was trying to figure out how we were going to explain this to the ER doctors, if he was to go have it x-rayed!

Christmas with the family!
Today was the day that we got together with my family to enjoy the Christmas time together. A great time was had by all.

Every year my mom does stocking for all of us and every year Laurie, Lisa and I get bras and underwear in our stockings. When we all got married and mom started doing stocking for Jay, Michael, and Matt she made a big deal out of not ever putting underwear in their stockings, because, well that was just to personal for her. So this year Laurie, Lisa and I schemed together to buy skimpy underwear for the guys and put them in their stockings without mom knowing. We wanted some really naughty ones, but did not want to spend that much money on a gag gift. So Micheal was the first guy to open his stocking from mom and when he pulled out the underwear my moms face was priceless. She had no clue how the underwear got in the stocking.

Then my lovely Brother-In-Law Jay, had to take it one step further and model thus said underwear that Mimi put in their stockings!Saturday, December 20, 2008
The Great Cookie Cook Off of 2008
I was inspiried to bake cookies this year for Christmas as Tatum wanted to decorate cookies for Santa. I was looking for the perfect Sugar Cookie receipe that held their form and I found one, little did I know that this receipe made over 60+ cookies so after 3 hours of baking, it was now time to sit down and decorate these bad boys. You would think I would have gone the easy route and just glazed them, but no, I had to do one better and make two batches of Wilson's Icing and ice and decorate 60+ cookies. Four hours and several blisters later all were done. However, there are no beautiful pictures of that because it was 2:00 in the morning by the time I finished them and I was freaking sick of looking at cookies and icing! So you will just have to enjoy my non-iced cookies. Oh, and if you want this receipe let me know, because these cookies rocked and held their form after being cooked!
