We are here!

Today started out just like the past 2, in the freaking car! I mean seriously, I have a new found respect for truck drivers! We left beautiful San Deigo and headed up the Pacific Coast Highway on what we thought was going to be a scenic route to LA! Boy were we wrong!!! It was a beautiful trip that took us through nice beach towns like Laguna Beach, Newport Beach and Hunnington Beach, but it was a long drive. We got into LA about 5 and let me just say, I was dissappointed! It is not this glitzy, glamor town that I thought it would be! I can't imagine why any celeb would call this place home. Maybe I am not in the right places, but in kind of reminds me of a larger Dallas!

Nothing really big happened today. We did go to the beach in San Diego and I found it very weird that I was on a beach in a hoodie and jeans and still freezing cold. Aren't beaches supposed to be warm?

Downtown San Diego. BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Part of the grandkids on Coronado beach, I think (the beach part that is, not the grandkids)! This is for you MIMI!

They just have to get in the sand!

Jay taking the kids to inspect the water, (and yes, they did end up wet!) did I mentioned that we found quiet a few Sand Dollars? This beach had them all over the place, We found a few that were still whole
Pacific ocean

Freezing on the beach!

Laguna Beach! (jealous Jamie)

Ten dollars to the person that can tell me what the bright purple flowers are that bloom all over the coast! There is a hot pink flower that when mixed in with these is absoultly breathtaking!

Downtown LA. YUCK!!!

I guess one thing that did happen today was that when we got to our hotel, we really didn't know which gang colors to sport as to not get shot. We walked in our room and it smelled like they just disinfected a murder scene. Needless to say, you really can't trust what the internet calls a good hotel. So we are in a new, nice, clean and safe hotel.
Jay has his pre-op tomorrow (Wednesday), all day long. He has doctor's appointments and tests that he has to go through. He was even more reserved today than yesterday. I can tell this is weighing on him. Brady is having a hard time with Jay going in the hospital as well. You might want to lift him up in prayer as well. Poor guy!
I will update the blog surgery day as things progress, so check back for details and updates. Remember that we are two hours behind Texas time and his surgery is scheduled for 12:30 LA time.
Also, Jay's parents are in the process of driving out here as well, so please pray for them to have safe travels as well!
Funnies for today: There really wasn't one thing that was funny today. We were all very tired from our travels! I think it is catching up with us all as we have been more snippy with each other!

Hope you have a great day!
